There were so many great demonstrations, and it kind of becomes a bit of a blur afterward. I also spent a bit too much time taking photos, instead of paying attention! But I do remember some parts clearer than others.

I remember watching Yokota Sensei. He’s one of the teachers for Intermediate Gakkou, and I’ve been to a couple of his ippan classes as well, and I always enjoy his classes (as hard as they are for me). Your blog post about him was spot on, he really has a way of dominating the uke!

Waka Sensei seemed to do a lot of suwariwaza, and I’m always impressed by how smoothly he moves. I find suwariwaza particularly difficult because of a lack of flexibility in my hips, it’s definitely something I need to work on a lot.

I didn’t realize Endo Sensei was performing, I’ve seen a little video of him on youtube, and I’d have loved to see his demonstration.

Tada Sensei seems to have a unique way of moving, and he get’s through the techniques very very fast. Worth checking out on Youtube. I was lucky enough to attend his seminar at Hombu Dojo a few months back, and I enjoyed it a lot.

The Doshu was amazing as always, he’s so precise.

Definitely a lot of great aikido!

Looks as though you had a lot of fun! Were there any people demonstrating the stood out particularly? What did you think of Tada Sensei’s demo? I missed it this year as with most of the others so I have no idea.

Hey, just thought I would let you know that the kanji in your name that mean nothing in chinese actually mean nothing in chinese is because those are japanese made kanji, because the chinese versions were too complex for the japanese to use in everyday writing, so they simplified it. That second one you put is the one that would be used in chinese.

only the j/e e/j dict, kanji dict and names dict are based on the freeware edict (JMdict for a while now), kanjidic and enamdic files. The onomatopoeia and particle dictionaries are very much my own effort =)

(also, the book has an english glossary for grammar terms at the back ^^)

Thanks, I’m pretty happy so far.
Sometimes I think I should have gone with a pc laptop and Ubuntu, but I know that would have required lots of tinkering and I just don’t have the time. The mac really is low maintenance

I’ve been using VLC, which is good but doesn’t support the remote. I haven’t been using Front Row because I haven’t got a Xvid/DivX plugin for QuickTime. I did a very quick search and didn’t find an obvious good choice (not sure I like the stuff from DivX).

Hi Sharath,
I don’t think you will get the results before March.
This year the official results were released in February, but they took ages to be sent out.
Maybe the delay was in Australia, but I doubt it, it was more likely on the Japanese end which means it will affect everyone.

You get to keep part of the form you fill in when you sign up (you need to take it on the day of the test). Then when the results come out you get the results, and the certificate if you pass. There’s nothing in between to actually say you took the test. In fact, about half of the desks have been empty both times I’ve taken it (level 3 and level 4), so lots of people sign up but don’t take the test.

Good Luck with level 2.
I will probably take it this year, but there is no way I will pass.

I am pleased. In fact, I am studying for level 2 exam this year…could you tell me if I could get some kind of a result before march next year ? Do I get some kind of confirmation that I have taken the test ?

Cool – another Guesstimate … With all the page counters of web 1.0, the moving counter looks like becoming a fitting 2.0 fixture – fortunately only in places where it’s not going to distract anyone.

Again,. interesting that they’re pushing the arithmetic into the browser. Makes a bit more sense here as the web service is (arguably) somewhat generic.

Yeah, I think you’re really supposed to use the “clippings” or “My Blog” feature, rather than keep them as unread.

The “My Blog” feature didn’t work when I signed up for bloglines a few months ago (I put in a bug report, never heard back). Just checked now, and it’s working! Might be time to try it out.
